Organic
Produce

At Jupazza, we do not use any pesticides
or chemicals on our farm. All
weeds and pests are battled "the
old-fashioned" way, including a bit of
mastery with the tractor, cultivator,
natural, organic concoctions, and basic
blood, sweat and tears. We know
what our vegetables and fruits have
endured. If you come by our farm, you
can pick and eat as you go without
worry, besides a bit of dirt. |

What Does a Share Include? |
 |
A co-op
is a community effort where the farmer
and the community work together on behalf of
the Earth and each other. We
stress sustainability and the
self-sufficiency and function more as a
training program whereas the produce is
a side-product of all of our work. The farmers
administrates, direct and support the
effort while members work together to
have an overabundant supply of produce
to share throughout the growing season.
All members share the cost of supporting
the farm and share the risk of variable
harvests (over/under abundance). All members pick
their own produce to avoid waste and to
ensure scheduling flexibility.
Membership fees are used for supplies
and equipment necessary to reach the
farm goals, but mainly for use on
organic and/or untreated seeds, equipment, and basic farm
necessities.
Jupazza provides many alternatives based on your
needs. We offer shares of harvest from the farm
on an annual basis based for the entire season
in advance. Items are available on a u-pick
basis. We offer both full shares and half
shares. A full share will bring you
a bushel of fresh produce. A half share
will give you a half bushel of produce on a
weekly basis. We offer 3
seasons of fresh produce and nature determines
the beginning and the end of the growing season. We also
notify members of other items such as classes,
excess produce, special evenings/events, etc.
Full Shares = $450
Half Shares = $225

Types of Produce Available

|
 |
|
We farm
nearly 3 acres of our property, the
remainder is covered with wild
strawberries, black raspberries,
mushrooms, apple trees, pear trees, and
more.
We rotate our crops every year,
but we regularly provide tomatoes,
eggplant, melon, squash, pumpkin,
cucumber, peppers, beets, cauliflower,
broccoli, corn, berries, various greens,
salad, wild mushrooms, onions, garlic, a
huge assortment of herbs, trees (small
and seedlings), cut wood, asparagus,
beans, peas and flowers.
We
have our favorites, but we offer a
variety of each type of vegetable and
fruit; variety is the spice of life!
We are open to suggestions as
to your favorites, too.
If a fruit/veggie can tolerate
Michigan weather, we’ll grow it.
Looking Forward—2006
2006
will bring grains, a plot
dedicated to medicinal herbs and
exotic varieties of plants including
sesame and various native grasses.
This will be our second year as
a CSA after 10 years of success
as a small, family farm.
We will also be offering
various classes based on old-Italian
traditions, new age recipes, food
preservation methods
and more.
Father
Winter allows us time to use all of
our preserved produce: we are
professionals in preservation
including drying, jarring, and freezing
ready for use.
We're here
to bring nature to your table
throughout all seasons of Michigan!
